Postgraduate Qualifying Program

Are you unsure of your English skills, but keen on postgraduate study in business or tourism at our beautiful beachside campus at the Gold Coast? You should consider our Postgraduate Qualifying Program pathway.

This program is offered in a single semester to prepare you with the English language skills you need to study in an academically rigorous program.

You will also commence foundation subjects in management communication, marketing or organisational behaviour which will give you a head start for your postgraduate degree.

Graduates will meet the admission standards and receive credit towards a Master of Business Administration, Master of Professional Accounting or the Master of International Tourism and Hospitality Management.

Career Opportunities

Students who successfully complete the PQP meet the academic and English language entry requirements for the following on-campus postgraduate courses at Southern Cross University: Master of Business Administration (MBA), Master of Professional Accounting (MPA), Master of International Tourism and Hotel Management (MITHM), Master of Information Technology or the Master of Engineering Management, Master of Business Administration (MEM/MBA). Students who successfully complete the PQP also receive two units of advanced standing towards these courses.

Postgraduate preparation and management communication plus a core unit from either the business, tourism, hospitality and accounting stream or from the information technology and engineering management stream.

Teaching methods

On-campus students experience a variety of teaching approaches including face-to-face lectures and tutorials. Some units offer online activities, classes, pre-recorded and/or live lectures. The method of teaching may vary from unit to unit.
